Preferences
The Preferences section of the application allows users to customize their settings related to maps, devices, notification sounds, and tokens. These settings enable users to tailor the application to their specific needs and preferences, enhancing their overall user experience.
Components
1. Map Settings
The Map Settings section provides options to configure the map display and behaviour.
Active Maps:
- Dropdown to select the active map service. This allows users to choose their preferred map provider for viewing locations and routes.
- Available options include popular map services such as Google Road, Google Road Traffic, Google Satellite, Google Hybrid
Map Overlay:
- Dropdown to select overlay options for the map, such as Openseamap, Openrailwaymap. Overlays can provide additional context and details on the map.
Live Routes:
- Dropdown to disable, selected devices or all devices live routes display.
Show Direction:
- Dropdown to select how to show directions on the map (e.g., Selected Device). This setting determines whether the map shows the direction of travel for the selected device.
Popup Info (Replay):
- Allows selection of parameters to display in a popup during replay (e.g., Speed, Address, Total Distance, Course). This feature enables users to view detailed information about a route or event during playback.
- Users can add or remove parameters using the “X” to delete specific ones, offering flexibility in the information displayed.
Show Geofences:
- Checkbox to toggle the display of geofences on the map. Geofences are virtual boundaries set on the map, and displaying them can help in monitoring areas of interest.
Follow:
- Checkbox to toggle following the selected device on the map. When enabled, the map automatically centres and follows the movement of the selected device.
Markers Clustering:
- Checkbox to toggle clustering of markers on the map. Marker clustering helps in managing map display when there are many points of interest by grouping nearby markers.
Show Map on Selection:
- Checkbox to toggle the display of the map when a device is selected. This ensures that the map view updates and highlights the selected device.
2. Devices Settings
The Devices Settings section allows users to customize how device information is displayed.
- Device Title:
- Dropdown to select the title format for devices (e.g., Name). Users can choose how they want their devices to be labelled, which can include options like model, phone, contact, geofence and identifiers.
- This setting helps in personalizing the device display according to user preferences and needs.
3. Notification Sound
The Notification Sound section provides options to manage sound alerts for various events.
Sound Events:
- Dropdown to select the sound event for notifications. This setting allows users to choose specific sounds for different types of notifications, enhancing awareness for critical events like device moving, device stopped, geofence entered, geofence exit etc.
Sound Alarms:
- Dropdown to select sound alarms for major events (e.g., SOS). Users can assign distinct alarm sounds to major events to ensure they catch attention promptly.
Major Sound Events:
- Dropdown to select sound notifications for major events. This allows users to set sounds for important events that require immediate attention.
Major Sound Alarms:
- Dropdown to select sound alarms for major events. This feature helps in distinguishing between regular notifications and critical alarms.
4. Token
The Token section provides security-related settings for user authentication.
Expiration:
- Displays the expiration date of the token (e.g., 12-09-2025). The expiration date indicates until when the current token is valid, ensuring that users are aware of when to renew or update it.
Token Field:
- Field to view and regenerate the token. The token can be copied or refreshed using the corresponding button.
- Regenerating the token provides a new authentication key, enhancing security and access control.
